2026 Taiaiako’n—Parkdale—High Park Pre-Budget Consultation Community Survey

August 14, 2026 news-nouvelles

A new federal budget process is upon us and with it comes an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together and where we should go next.

Over the past year, one message came through clearly from residents across Taiaiako’n–Parkdale–High Park: affordability remains the biggest challenge facing many families. That’s why our government has focused on putting more money back into people’s pockets. Starting this month, the Canada Child Benefit is increasing for the 2026–27 benefit year. Eligible families can now receive up to $8,157 per child under six and $6,883 per child aged 6 to 17, helping parents with the rising cost of raising a family.

We’ve also navigated a rapidly changing global economy. Faced with tariffs and growing uncertainty, Canada has responded by strengthening our economy at home: expanding trade partnerships, supporting businesses affected by tariffs, and encouraging Canadians to buy Canadian. Together, we’re building a stronger, more resilient, and more sovereign economy.

Now it’s time to look ahead. As Parliament begins work on the next federal budget, I want to hear directly from you. What are your priorities? Where should we invest? What challenges are you facing?

Please take a few minutes to complete my pre-budget survey. It will close on August 31st. You can complete my survey HERE.

PLUS: Join my virtual Pre-Budget Consultation Town Hall happening on Monday, August 24th at 6pm. RSVP HERE.

Your ideas will help shape the work I do in Ottawa on behalf of our community.

Yours in service,

Karim Bardeesy
